Eligibility and Qualifications
The minimum educational requirements vary significantly depending on the position’s level. For officer-level roles (Level 6 and above), a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is mandatory. For instance, engineering positions require a degree in the specified engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electronics) from a recognized university, and candidates must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council.Similarly, positions in accounts require qualifications in commerce, business administration, or management, with some senior roles specifying a Chartered Accountancy qualification.
For assistant-level roles (Level 4 and 5), the requirements range from a Proficiency Certificate Level (equivalent to 10+2) to a T-SLC (Technical School Leaving Certificate) in the relevant technical subject. For example, a Senior Assistant in Administration or Accounts typically requires a proficiency certificate in management or commerce. A Technician role may require a T-SLC or a SEE Grade-C in a technical subject with relevant training.
The age limit for applicants for levels 4 and 5 is 18 to 35 years. For levels 6 and 7, the age requirement is 21 to 35 years.[1] The upper age limit is extended to 40 years for female and disabled candidates. However, there is no age bar for permanent employees of the NOC applying for these positions.
The Application and Selection Process

The deadline for submission is 21 days from the date of the first publication of the notice, with an additional seven-day grace period for submission with a double fee.
The application fee varies by position level: Rs. 1,000 for Level 6, 7, and 8; Rs. 400 for Level 5; and Rs. 300 for Level 4. Candidates applying for the same position under an additional inclusive category must pay an extra fee.
The selection process is managed by the Public Service Commission (PSC), which is renowned for its rigorous and impartial examination system.
